Join Everyday Advocates for a community litter cleanup and neighborhood inspection in Fort Lauderdale’s Sistrunk Neighborhood. This is a free event open to everyone. Volunteers of all ages and experience levels are welcome.
What we’ll be doing
We’re walking the neighborhood, picking up litter, and documenting hazards. Potholes, broken lights, drainage problems, overgrown medians. Whatever we find gets logged and reported to the agencies and businesses responsible for fixing it.
What to wear and bring
Dress comfortably for outdoor activity in the South Florida heat. Closed-toe shoes are required. Bring water and apply sunscreen before you arrive. All supplies are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own.
Community service hours
Everyday Advocates is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We provide volunteer and community service hour verification upon request.
Why this matters
These are the streets where we live, work, shop, and play. When a sidewalk is cracked, a streetlight is out, or trash has been piling up for months, it affects everyone in the community, not just the people who live on that block. Everyday Advocates exists to make sure those problems get reported and get fixed. Events like this one are how we do it.

All participants must complete the volunteer sign-up form. If a volunteer is under 18, a parent or guardian must complete their portion of the sign-up form, and a responsible adult must accompany the minor volunteer for the duration of the event.
